Donations As with many open source projects, we cannot pay full attention to the project, because we need to pay some attention to regular work to earn money for each developer. So far, we develop osFree as our spare-time activities. Also, we need to spend some money for hosting, domain name leasing, newer hardware. And, to spend less time to activities other than osFree, we need some additional money, which can be converted to freed time, so we can pay more attention to osFree development.

Petitions to opensource OS/2 There were two petitions to IBM corp. to open OS/2 sources. November 1 2005, OS/2 community created the 1st petition, asking to open the source code of this system. Despite that 11613 people subscribed the petition, IBM ignored it. In November 2007 community created the 2nd petition, which subscribed 3744 people. Current Status osFree project is deep in the alpha stage. At the present time the osFree project work with low-level parts of operating system like loader and related tools. We also try to develop an experimental prototype of OS/2 personality for L4 microkernel. Also we have set of command line tools like CMD.EXE and file/disk maintance utilities.
