@SUBSTR



@SUBSTR[string,start,length]:  This is an older version of @INSTR The 
string parameter is at the start of the @SUBSTR argument list, and 
therefore cannot contain commas (because any commas in the string would be 
taken as argument separators).  @INSTR, which has the string argument 
last, does not have this restriction.
